ごめんなさい。(I'm sorry.)

Excuse the lack of updates over the past few days. I'm trying to spend every spare second I have with Ryan. He leaves for basic training in ten days. T-T So we've just been hanging out at home or going to the movies a lot. (Shutter is pretty good, by the way.) Last night we just walked around the shopping center across from the movie theater for togetherness. It was nice, and we managed to get a couple of photos as well as the better quality photo of me doing kung fu with the panda figure at the movie theater. : D

Weekend Away

Ryan and I spent Saturday at Dollywood with his family. We had a good time, and the weather was perfect. Not too hot or cold. We spent the night at my parents' house in Greeneville and took my brother to see Drillbit Taylor on Sunday after the early service at Ryan's church and the regular service at mine. We ate Easter dinner with Ryan's family and celebrated his youngest brother's birthday which is later this month. I received a trinket box as a belated birthday gift, and Ryan and I both got a few cards between my birthday, late Valentine's Day cards from his grandparents, and an Easter card. All of which included money. : D Yay for money!

We came home late last night and crashed. Even though it doesn't sound like much, this weekend was tiring. Unfortunately I didn't take a single picture the entire time. -_-;; I really need to get back into the swing of things with pictures. Ryan and I have next to none since moving to Knoxville. It's kind of sad.

Bridal Party

Yesterday was great. Meg and I found her dress quickly, in the right size, and in the right color. The front piece of the dress is a little long on Meg so she's going to have it pinned up and have a sash attached that ties into a bow behind her to hide the pinning and add a splash of white. She also bought her shoes (a cute pair of white sling-back heels) at the mall before coming back to the apartment to watch movies while I was at work.

After Ryan and I both got home, the three of us went out to dinner and saw Horton Hears a Who again. Because it's that awesome. Meg finally headed home around 1AM. ^_^;; Lost track of time watching stand up comedy at the apartment after our movie was over.

Today hasn't been even the tiniest bit productive. I really need to do some laundry because Ryan and are going to be in Gatlinburg all day tomorrow and Greeneville all day Sunday spending time with his family before he ships out in April. But I'm feeling really lazy about it.

Another Day

Last night Ryan and went out and ended up seeing Horton Hears a Who which was awesome. But we love both of the leading actors so maybe we're biased. ^_^;; We're planning on seeing Drillbit Taylor next week. It comes out this weekend, but we'll be spending most of Saturday and Sunday with Ryan's family. There's this awesome Kung Fu Panda figure that's about four times my size at the theater we go to. Ryan took a picture on his phone of me doing a kick like the figure is doing while standing right beside it, but it's not the best quality. We're hoping to get one on the digital camera when we go back because I have to have a decent copy of it. Haha. While out and about last night I picked up some random Hello Kitty stickers at Target. : D

Today has been slightly more productive than usual. We've figured out how to suspend Ryan's cell phone while he's away, finally got in touch with corporate for the theater Ryan used to work at to get a new copy of the W2 for last year that his mother misplaced, and got all of the addresses except those from Ryan's mother for our invitations in order. So we're preparing to start sending those out within then next week or two. Yay! Tomorrow Meg and I are going shopping for her bridesmaid dress and stuffs. Yay for girl time with Meg who I haven't seen since Christmas!

Laundry as a Pasttime

Not much going on here. Just the usual wedding planning and preparing for Ryan to leave for basic training next month. Yesterday we returned his school books and paid his cell phone bill before I went to work. Today we just sat around the apartment watching TV until I left for work. Yay for the mundane things that make life grand.

So now I'm just doing laundry and watching TV until Ryan gets home from PT. Seems to be a bit of a pattern for me, ne? Not that I mind. I'm trying to spend as much time with him as possible before he leaves.

Home at Last

Some nasty storms kept Ryan and I from driving home yesterday morning and forced Ryan to call into work. We attempted the drive back only to turn around almost half of the way here and return to Greeneville. The weather was insane, and everyone around us on the interstate still insisted on going 80MPH...even semitrucks! I was scared out of my mind until we pulled back into my parents' driveway to wait out the storms safe and sound there. This morning the weather was beautiful so the drive back was quick and easy. Ryan has already headed off to work for the day.

As for the details of our trip, Thursday night we got into Greeneville around 10PM and stopped by the McDonald's I used to work at to say hello to everyone before heading to my parents house and crashing for the night. Friday we got up pretty early, and my mom drove us to the dentist where I had a filling ( T_T ) and some new bands put on my braces. We treated my mom to lunch at Stir Fry and browsed Barnes & Noble for ASVAB study guides for my brother, who is contemplating joining the Navy, before heading back to my parents' house to hang out for a while.

That evening we had dinner with Ryan's mother and brothers after which we went bowling and saw College Road Trip with them. Cute, although predictable, movie. We hoped to hang out with some friends that night, but everyone was tired or busy so we just went to bed. We failed our attempt to get home Saturday morning and ended up spending the day with my parents and grandparents just talking and eating dinner. Watched something about Paleo Indians on the History Channel at some point as well as some other TV shows my mom DVRs that we usually watch here. Finally made it home earlier this afternoon.

I have some more pictures up from my birthday stuffs over on Flickr. I hadn't had the chance to upload them until this afternoon.

はるのやすみですよ!

For those of you who can't read my Japanese subject, it's Spring Break! : D No school for over a week. Yayness! Today was my last Japanese class so I'm home free until March 25th.

I thought I should share pictures of our wedding bands since I've been talking about them lately. Mine is simple, but we got a Tungsten band for Ryan because it's more durable and very unlikely to scratch compared to golds or steel.

Ryan and I are heading to G-Vegas tonight after we get home from PT and work respectively. We'll be there through Saturday morning spending time with our families and making a trip to the orthodontist for me tomorrow morning. I probably won't be blogging again until after we return.

Birthday Blues

Last night Ryan came home with an adorable Oreo icecream cake complete with a panda for my birthday. Though the panda does look a little sad. He said next time he'll specify that he wants a happy panda on my cake. ^_^;; I love it anyway.

We went out to dinner at O'Charley's because their potato soup is pretty much my favorite thing in the entire world. Then we went to the art theater and saw Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day which was actually really good. We enjoyed it.

Otherwise my birthday didn't really contain anything special. I told Ryan he owes me a card. And next year I better have a bajillion presents because this is the second year in a row he hasn't gotten me anything. He feels pretty bad about it, but he is just really bad a gift shopping. Still, if anyone should know me well enough to shop for me, it should be him. : P He'll make it up to me.

Today after my classes we went to the mall and picked up his wedding band so now we have them both safe and sound for July 5th. : D Then Ryan got a haircut, and we stopped for a bite to eat before I went to work. Now I'm doing some laundry while I'm waiting for Ryan to get home so we can eat some of my cake...

Happy Birthday to Me

So I'm 20 now. Doesn't really feel any different yet, but we'll see. ^_^ Sarah M came down today from G-Vegas to go bridesmaid dress shopping and brought me presents!

We ended up finding her dress at David's bridal, but we had to order it in red so it won't be in until late April at which point she has to have it altered a bit. I rescheduled my alterations for early April so that's one less thing to worry about. We actually found Sarah's shoes for the wedding at the mall before she headed home. So now she's all set. Now I just have to go shopping with Meg sometime soon. : D

Ryan still hasn't done anything for my birthday... >_>;;

Yay for Sparkly Things

I picked up my wedding band from Kay Jewelers today. : D Ryan and I actually bought our bands over a week ago, but they had to oder mine in white gold. Ryan's had to be ordered in his size, and we're still waiting on that. But having mine is still exciting in and of itself.

An interesting thing happened after work today. I got locked inside the building. None of the doors in any of the stairwells or to any of the elevators would open. I felt like I was trapped in a horror movie or something. Gah. ^_^;; Luckily a nurse with keys finally let me out. Craziness. Not sure what the deal was, but this is the second time it's happened to me. The first time, though, someone with keys happened to be opening the door right as I was leaving. Not so lucky this time. I ran up and and down stairs and across entire floors of the hospital for a good fifteen minutes. Next time I'll just exit through the actual hospital and forget about the offices. I was afraid to try it today, though, for fear of getting lost in all of those hallways. But I asked the nurse how to get to the lobby through the hospital so I'll know if there is a next time.

Du Du Du

So today has been a lazy kind of day. Ryan and I spent the morning pimping his MySpace Marine Corps. style. (I think it's amazing how pimping your MySpace has become a perfectly legitimate pasttime.) And then he left for work. Since then I have done some laundry, but otherwise I've just surfed the internet aimlessly. I'm so bored. T-T I miss having friends. Can't wait to be in Greeneville for a bit and hang out with everyone. But then I'll be missing Ryan like crazy. Such is my life.

My best friend and maid of honor, Sarah M, and I are going bridesmaid dress shopping on Tuesday. (Which also happens to be my birthday!) I have to cancel my original dress fitting in September and get one for May at the latest since the wedding has moved up to July. Hopefully that won't be too much of a hassle. And hopefully soon Meg will be here for Spring Break, and I can drag her to David's Bridal, as well. : D We're on such a time crunch now that I just want to get as much planned as possible so I won't be worried about the time contsraints so much anymore.

Boredom and the Pimp Teddy Bear

So I finished the about me section...and got bored. I decided to take pictures of the apartment because the last ones I took were from when we first moved here aside from the when we bought our table and the Christmas tree. I'm going to be moving out in the next few months, so I wanted some picture of what it looked like while we actually lived here and not just the initial set up. Enjoy.

Ryan and I were also finally able to find a Marine Corps. uniform for Ryan-Bear! The Build-a-Bear I made for Ryan in an Air Force uniform back when he was still in Air Force JROTC in high school. Haha. So now Ryan-Bear is pimp.

P.S. Coughing sucks.

Insert Title Here

Ryan got up before the sun to attend a Marine Corps. Pool Function, but I ended up sleeping until almost eleven, which for us is late. I like to get up at a decent hour to accomplish something with my day. Ryan came home for lunch, and we watched Stranger than Fiction for the first time since our first date on November 12, 2006. And it was just as great. Then he headed off to work, and I took a quick shower hoping that would make me feel a little better. Which it did, but I'm still coughing a lot.

I spent the rest of my afternoon so far working on getting my about me section back up and running, which you can now view by clicking the 'More?' button in my introduction to the right. I'll be adding more to it possibly this afternoon, and hopefully it will all be finished by the end of the weekend. I'm probably not going to put any of my other old content back up as most of it was just a waste of my coding time and energy anyway. I'll just stick to me because it's what I know best, and the whole point of this site is to be a journal and a window into me for my friends and family that I don't see every day anymore.

Cough O' Doom

So my cold has become much worse. I'm coughing like crazy, and breathing is becoming more and more difficult between the stuffy nose and the aforementioned coughing. I'm taking DayQuil/NightQuil regularly along with cough drops to avoid annoying myself and everyone else around me with my constant coughing.

Ryan and I caught a matinee of 10,000 B.C. this afternoon before making my cold medicine run. It was pretty good. Nothing grand, but good. We enjoyed it. Of course my enjoyment could only run so deep what with this cold and knowing I had to work afterward. Ugh. Not to mention I had to take my Japanese mid-term this morning while under the influence of a cold.

I think I'm going to call it a night a bit early and attempt to fight this thing off over the weekend. I'll make Ryan help me with the laundry so I don't have to go outside to the laundry facilities in the cold. : D He'll love me oh so much for it.

New Layout!

And, yes, it's another panda themed layout. Haha. I love pandas in case you hadn't noticed. ^_^ But I made the background blue instead of the same old boring white. And I found those cute little bamboo brushes which I am now in love with. Now to actually start getting content back online as I intended with the last layout...

Ryan left early this morning to swear back into the Marine Corp. He had to start all of the paperwork and stuff over in order to go active duty. Then he's probably going to drop by school and withdraw, cancel our gym membership, and pick up his paycheck. Meanwhile, I have an Astronomy lab at 12:20. Bleh. Hopefully I won't be there forever. I hate having to rush home and rush to work when lab runs long. And I need to eat somewhere among all of that rushing.

I definitely have a cold. It started out as a sore throat, but now I'm a little stuffy and coughing a bit. Nothing too bad, but it's still annoying. I'm just hoping it doesn't get worse. I can handle stuffy as long as it's not so bad I can still breathe through my nose. I hate it when it gets so bad you have to chew with your mouth open to avoid asphyxiation. Haha. Poor Ryan had one of those colds last month. Probably where I got it. -_-;; Thanks for sharing the love, Babe.

Drastic Change of Plans

So my absence can be explained by all of the decisions Ryan and I have made in the past week. And the trip to Greeneville I took over the weekend to go to the dentist and attend one of my middle school friend's baby shower. (Congrats on a second little boy, Linda! ^_^ Now you'll have two future heartbreakers on your hands.)

Scratch any plans I've ever detailed about Ryan and I's future now. Here's what's going to happen. Ryan is withdrawing from Pellissippi and shipping to basic on April 7 which will give us a bonus of a nice little sum of money for going early. When he ships, it will not be to the Reserves but to Active Duty. He and I will be getting married in July when he comes home. Then he will head off to the next three months or so of his training, tech school included, where he will find out where he will be stationed. Hopefully due to our getting married before he fills out the paperwork for assignment, we will be stationed together wherever he goes.

We will be living wherever the Marine Corp. deems necessary, and we will both continue going to school in the evenings and so forth to complete our degrees. I will not have to work at all with the steady income Ryan will be bringing in. We will finally be able to stop spinning our wheels and head in the direction we've been wanting to go for quite some time. We are both so excited and happy with where our lives are going now. We're getting married, becoming able to support ourselves, finishing school on our time without it taking up all our time, and giving ourselves the ability to start our family within a few years' time. Yay!
